Fuel Price a Scam?

How is it that the price of LPG varies when petrol barrel prices go up?

Petrol stations are quick to put the price of LPG up when barrel prices of petrol go up. Recently when petrol went from $1.33 odd to around $1.60 the price of LPG rose from 55 cents to 69 cents, an increase of around 25%. But now that petrol has come back down in price there are only a few service stations that have changed the LPG price back down to 59 cents. Well they can say all they like that there is no price collusion on petrol and when the ACCC investigate the fluctuations stop for a couple of weeks and then they are at it again.

Now to top that off,  the other day around Logan  in Brisbane I filled up with LPG for 61.9cents while the same brand service station on the other side of the road had their LPG advertised at 79.9 cents a liter, this is a whopping 29% difference. If the price of  any other product varied by this much there would be an out cry.

So my challenge to the Australian government is to regulate LPG to a level that would make it so attractive that more people will convert to the cleaner fuel of LPG.

If LPG was 25 cents per liter wouldn’t you convert your car?

Life Blood of the Internet

Anchor text links, feeding to a web site help the site improve the page rank with the search engines. Here are some tips on what you need to do.

Search engine optimization is a great game, just when you think you are on the right track the Search engines change the way they rank web sites. Probably to eliminate people taking short cuts.

Exchange links are hard work and sometimes frustrating, but first hand I can tell you they do work.

Now the first thing to do is workout which key words best suite your site. For Example: what words do you want people to find your web site under. I first started by using my site URL, which is no good as next to no one will know the site so they won’t be searching the text of the URL. You will need some sort of descriptive text like “Discount Shopping” which describes what the site is about.

Next you will need to find websites that this text can be placed on. There are many sites that offer link exchange services but be care-full as some of these site will have your penalized for gaining links to fast. Pages that have a common interest as your site give a better score than irrelevant sites, the same as sites that have higher page rank score better. Having said this it appears that nearly any link is worth something, it just may not be very much.

So the best way to start is to write some articles and submit to sites. If submitting to a number of sites, change the content for a better result. Forums and blogs also can be other ways of gaining links.

Lastly e-mail relevant sites webmasters and ask for a link exchange, form a relationship with these sites and become an authority on your topic.

On my website I have a page where interested parties can send me a message saying they are interested in setting up an exchange with my site.

Recession Proof, Local advertising A Must.

In today’s climate of business, that is a declining market as the USA appears to be going in to recession, it is important to start advertising again. Over the last couple of years I have decreased the amount of a publicity, that I need to do as the economic climate has been great.
Now that economic climate is starting to slow down again my massage business is one of the first that will be affected as it is a luxury for most people.

Some people have already started to cut back from a massage a week to one every fortnight. This has once again brought me to the point of looking for places to promote my business.
In the past I have advertised in a periodical that was delivered in the local area. It is expensive but dose work to some degree, the problem I have with this is that the majority of my clients come from within 5 kilometers of my clinic and we live on the boundary for the periodical which in effect cuts down the power of my publicity by half.
Recently I came across a web site, that uses special mapping where the search area is centered on the location that you live or work in and the search distance can be varied so as to give the user control over the search. As an advertiser this means that my business is targeting the people who are looking for my product in the area that my clinic is in.
Local Advertising on the Internet is becoming more and more popular as the younger generation grows up; they are more familiar with how to find what they are looking for in cyber space.

finding discount shopping

So where do I find   the best deals or in discount shopping brisbane? Look in your letterbox, the local paper and on the internet. One site in Brisbane is designed especially for this.

The aim of the site is to give small to medium businesses a place to post their specials, discounts, deals, sales, bargains, just like a chalk board that a business would put out on the footpath. The site has a back end where advertisers can list and amend their specials information and limit the period a special will show for.

Using a mapping system (for Brisbane) in which the users can search by centering the search area on their suburb. Changing the search area depending on the type of product they are looking for, the more valuable the product the farther the user may want to look. For example looking for fruit and veg we might search 2km where as a car we might search 20km.
